Golden hour happens when the sun is setting, painting the skies in hues of oranges and pinks. It often compliments the feeling of serenity and is seen as a beautiful phenomenon that happens every day. However, what follows is when the sun is set below the horizon, repainting the skies in shades of blue, differing than those on a clear, sunny day. I created this piece to recreate the feelings that may come with viewing blue hour, whether it be calmness or sorrow. I find blue hour to be as beautiful as the sunset even though it is often overlooked. I hope this piece reminds viewers to look out for the small things, for they hold a significant amount of disregarded beauty.
